Casey starts adding up!
Dismal economic news certainly didn’t dampen the holiday spirits of Chapel Hill women Thursday evening. The second annual Giving Party brought together more than 80 women who gave over $15,000 to support local, national and international charitable organizations.

Add to that the generous matching donation of $2000 for Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, $5000 in gift certificates to DonorsChoose.org, and the amazing success of our sister parties in Charleston, SC ($7000 raised) and Charlotte, NC ($5500 raised) and the Giving Party total for 2008 exceeds $34,000!
From the Chapel Hill Giving Party, four additional children will be added to the Fuel Up at Perry Harrison food program immediately. Multiple local and national public school projects will be funded through DonorsChoose.org.
Habitat for Humanity and Family Violence Prevention Center can continue the amazing work they
do for families in Orange County. More research can be funded to advance women’s health at the Center for Women’s Health Research at UNC, and four more children are being supported through World Vision–not to mention the chickens and goats purchased for villages, the mosquito netting, health equipment and clean water tools that can now be made available around the world.
Perri & Neva toast the totals!
Perri, Mary Beth, Casey, Diane and Neva thank everyone for giving until it feels good!

Trader Joe’s in Chapel Hill donated all of the wine for the Giving Party. Greg fielded multiple updates and made wonderful choices for the party. We’re still talking about the white wine!
